Resorts vs. Parks

The first thing you need to know is that we have two kind of pages on MySnowparks: Resorts and Parks. It's actually quite simple.

Resorts are the overall ski areas. These are typically mountain towns, but we have all kinds of resorts - including indoor ski resorts.

Parks are the snowparks located within resorts and each resort can have more than one park. Parks are what MySnowparks is all about. It's the parks you follow and review.
You're always looking at a resort wrapper and within that you can either view the resort content or one of its parks' content.

How to contribute

As soon as you've signed up for a free user profile and are logged in, you'll be able to start contributing.

Follow Parks

The first step is to follow some parks of interest. They might be your local parks or parks you dream of going to - up to you.

You can follow parks directly from the Snowparks overview or by clicking the "FOLLOW PARK" button on the individual park pages.

Follow Park Button

The parks you follow are called My Snowparks. You will get all the latest updates from them into you user profile feed. You can also easily access them in the right hand site when viewing the Snowparks page.

Review Parks

The next thing to do is to write some reviews of parks you have been to. You do this by selecting "REVIEW PARK" from the park page. This is where you let other people know what to expect and tell what you liked and didn't like. Make sure to give it some fair ratings as well. 100% of course means perfect and 1% means extremely poor or not existing.

Review Park

You can also choose to like other people's reviews that you find helpful. This will put them higher in the review list.

Update Park Status

Each park has Park Updates where all users, in 140 characters, can posts what is currently happening in the park. This can be anything you feel the rest of the community needs to know. So go ahead and Update Park Status. If you're there - you're the expert.

Discuss

You can join the Discussions that take place related to each resort and its parks. Ask questions, respond to others and "like" the good stuff.

Upload Park or Resort Photos

An image says more than 1000 words, right? So, you can upload you own photos from both resorts (which would be more general pistes, overview, town) and parks (here people like to see great overviews of the features and close ups of each kicker, rail, pipe, ect.).

You upload photos by going to a resort or park page and click "EDIT RESORT" or "EDIT PARK" in the top right corner. You'll find the photo upload on the edit page.

Edit Park or Resort Information

After getting a bit of a feel for MySnowparks you can help out by editing resorts and parks. Click EDIT in the top right corner and fill out or correct as much information as possible.

Edit Resort

MySnowparks leaves it up to the users to edit all resort information from the general slope length, lifts, and opening dates to the details about getting there, getting around, and places to stay. You can even complete the resort with the latest ticket prices and facts.

Parks are equally open for everyone to edit. Fill in an "about the park" description, details such as suitable riding levels, opening hours, and average lift time. This an more will make it much easier for others to get an idea of the park.

Edit Park Maps

When you have been to a Snowpark, you have a good idea of how everything is placed in your head. So give the Park Map a try. When you're in edit mode you can drag the icons around, add info, remove them and add new ones. This is a great way to share the park plan overview with the community.

How to earn points
